The Bella Raw Story
Bella Raw was originally founded in 2019 at Spring Meadows, in Saskatoon, SK.
Inspired by Bella — a Pomeranian Japanese Chin who overcame paralysis through diet and living nutrition. That experience shaped our core philosophy:
Pets thrive on species-appropriate nutrition that provides the body with the resources it needs to heal, repair, recover and maintain health.
In September 2022, we transitioned
production to Winnipeg Specialty Meats, a locally owned Manitoba company
that has supplied premium meat to hotels and restaurants across the
province for over 40 years. They prioritize sourcing as much of their
product as possible from Canadian producers.
We pride ourselves on the fact every ingredient in Bella Raw is human-grade, and made to-order in small batches.
Which means you get the freshest possible product.
The same chicken, turkey, beef, and lamb you would
purchase for your own table. While many pet food brands note that their
products are made in a “human-grade facility,” that does not guarantee
the ingredients themselves are fit for human consumption.
At Bella Raw, each cut of meat is federally inspected and meets the same quality
standards as food for people. We believe that pets deserve the same
respect and care as their human family members,
which is why we prioritize quality assurance and sourcing practices.
We're proud to say that our chicken, turkey, beef, and lamb are identical to the products sold to consumers, with no compromises on quality or safety.
